On this christening gown the years were especially visible as yellowing and a few clear discolourations between the many embroidered and sewn-on details.
The job required gentle treatment, because both the fabric and the embellishments had to be protected throughout.
After treatment the gown appears considerably lighter and more even, while the many fine details have been preserved.
With older and embellished textiles, we always put the material first.
