Environment and responsibility

How we dry clean and wash, and what we do for resources and the environment in our daily operations.

The right treatment for each textile

We assess the material, the care label, the stains and the construction of the textile before choosing between washing, professional wet cleaning and dry cleaning. Correct treatment can help preserve the appearance and lifespan of clothing.

Products with the EU Ecolabel

For washing and professional wet cleaning, we use products from SEITZ, among others, including products with the EU Ecolabel. The EU Ecolabel is the EU’s official ecolabel. You can compare it with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the official Nordic ecolabel. The labels are not identical, but both are based on documented environmental requirements.

Dry cleaning in a closed system

For traditional dry cleaning, we use a BÖWE dry cleaning machine with hydrocarbon as the solvent. The process takes place in a closed system. After a cleaning cycle, the solvent is purified in the machine's own system so impurities are removed before it is used again.

Resources in daily operations

Reuse of heated water

The dry cleaning machine uses water to cool its technical systems. The water does not come into contact with the clothing or the solvent, but is heated during cooling. We collect the clean, pre-heated water and then use it in the laundry, so the energy in the water is used an extra time.

Environment and operations

Environment and operations go hand in hand

We prioritise solutions that work well in daily operations, and equipment that can be serviced and kept running for many years.

We follow developments in machines, cleaning agents, detergents and treatment methods and assess new solutions on an ongoing basis.

We only describe new environmental measures once they have been implemented and can be documented.

For Menzer, a good environmental solution is also a good operational solution.
