Has the pillow had its day? — before and after
Category: Pillow washing
Our own original pictures from the job, treated at our own dry cleaners in Roskilde.
Pillow with yellowish discolourations before washingDrag the handle to compare before and after. The arrow keys can also be used.
That was the customer's question when she came in with her pillow. After several years of use, it had turned noticeably yellow. Was it time for a new one, or could it be used again?
Even if you change your pillowcase often, sweat and the skin's natural oils can work their way into the pillow over time and cause yellowish discolouration. That does not necessarily mean the pillow has to be thrown out.
We gave this pillow a wash. The photos show the result: it looks lighter and more even, so the customer could keep it a little longer.
Not every pillow will get the same result. It depends on factors such as the material, filling, wear and care label. If you are unsure about your own pillow, bring it in. We will assess whether it is worth washing or whether it is time to replace it.
